I gotta laugh as the thread started out on the subject of the a Giulia purchase, Norm mentioned some quality issues with the Alfa, I responded comparing the US Regal sales nos - which by any definition for whatever reason have been anemic - esp in 2017, it's a car that few people are interested in.
The link I put in an earlier post I think is an adequate assessment of Buick's issues with selling autos, even refreshed and ones that get high marks from reviews - like LaCrosse.
Even many of Buick's traditional customers have moved into the SUV segment and Buick has not done a super job of attractive others that are in the market for sedans, so an image/marketing problem.
Looking a the Regal's ranking in mid size sedan - they are at or near the bottom of every ranking I've seen, so like the Verano I think few would care if the Regal simply disappeared from the US market. There will be some on here that will say they are interested in the new hatch and wagons, but stepping up and buying one is an entirely different matter, just like the NG 9-5.
So I applaud the OP for stepping up and buying a car with some distinguishing characteristics - such as fun to drive, instead of bargain shopping for an also ran like the Regal.
