I've had a 2003 aero wagon for over 4 years now, and the biggest repair was a bottom hit that wasn't saab's fault - $1000. It is fantastic on the road, has huge capacity, much more than that volvo, look it up, and is very reliable. The new car resale is terrible, which means there are bargains out there. If you can afford an 03, go for it, because they got better as the years went on. The resale is so bad because they are fringe cars, #'s wise, and a bit exotic depending on where you live. Ask around to see if there is an independent mechanic near you (ask on this board)as the dealers, like all dealers, are very expensive for service. If you can get a "saab certified" car you will have a warranty out to 100,000.
And don't go by the problems on this board - it is a board for problems. No one comes on just to say they love their car.
