Mobil 1 Ow40 is a excellent oil and is a great oil for the 9-5's. My opinion though is 5w40 is much better oil to use. This is based on extensive research and proven UOA on my 04 Aero.
Mobil 1 0w40 shears down to a 30 weight oil very quickly and there have been reports of it shearing to a 20 weight very quickly. Its barely a 40 weight oil to start with. This is based on proven UOA on BMW and VW/Audi as well as Saab turbocharged cars on various car forums.
Im in New England and plan on using 10w40 next summer and will post the results
My scanner is dead otherwise I would post my UOA of Mobil 1 5w40 TDT. It blew away MB1 0w40..
There is also this well documented article by a 31 year old Saab Technician that backs up 5w40 as being the oil to use.
