When taking that bracket off I remove the oil filter housing to give you a little bit more room. If you still have the Allen bolts in there I've cut down an Allen wrench to give you a better angle with the alternator still in the way it helps a lot. Did you try cold compressed air on the ignition amplifier when it is hot and left you stranded? I've never read the write-up on Townsend. But the job is not that hard with all of that stuff out of the way. I definitely put the bolt in the other direction that way all you have to do if you ever have to change those bushings is remove the oil filter housing. Best of luck hope you figure it out.
