Many people end up doing things different than what their college degree was for. Think of all those liberal arts grads who don't do liberal arts for a living.

Finish your degree. If you're not ready for marriage and house, etc.., there's no harm in moving back in for a little while and packing some money away. I built a garage for my tools and cars, then a house two years later when I was more ready for marriage. If you live at home, you can count on your tools disappearing because you don't have a home for them. The garage loft was a nice quiet place to hang out and watch a movie too prior to having a house.

My mother went to college and got a degree in Zoology, but raised a family instead (yes, that's a zoo) and is now a local computer repair expert.
My father went to a maritime academy and graduated with training to travel the world and make big bucks operating large ships. He stays home and works on a comparativly small lobster boat and plows snow in the winter. Neither occupation requires college education, but lots of people in those jobs have college degrees.

Completing college indicates you have the potential to be dedicated to finishing something you start. This is important to many employers, especialy if there is competition for the job from other college grads.

This is the same reason military service is usually seen as a good thing on a resume. We don't care if you can fire rifles accurately or polish boots. It means you can follow through, complete challenges given to you, and that you're probably not lazy.

Doing an internship can lead to some good references, meet some people who might help your career. One thing leads to another. You do some people business favors at your internship, they may return the favors later on. It's not glamorous, but a journey starts with a single step.

Me, I'm a college dropout who learned plenty in two years out of four and got started in the internet business at just the perfect time (1995). As a result of working in the community for 8+ years now, I have enough connections to keep employed if the internet dies. Why do I write this? I employ about a dozen people, review resumes frequently, and are involved in the hiring process.
