I have quite a few friends here at school that went to Lowell. In addition to not having traveled very much, I was really shocked to learn that some cannot ride a bicycle, swim or drive. Is this what happens when people are raised in the city? At least I learned this stuff growing up in the East Bay.
A year ago I went to China and backpacked for a month with my girlfriend. That was my first experience abroad and it really got me hooked. I have heard that working in consulting allows for a lot of travel and this is appealing. That is also my reasoning in studying Mandarin. China is a huge market that has yet to reach its full potential.
So am I just dreaming about a job that will allow me to travel the world, solve problems for businesses and meet interesting people? Maybe the idea of traveling was what attracted me to the news business. But as I sit here at my internship, I cannot even see a window....Go figure! Thanks!
Rob
