Do not worry about not seeing enough houses. If you and, more importantly, your wife love it, then go for it. We bought our first house a few years ago. The first, and I mean first, house we looked at my wife fell in love with. We hemmed and hawed and looked at probably a dozen other houses over the course of the next three months. But my wife always kept saying they weren't as nice as that other house....So, by the time we get back to the first house, the sellers had taken it off the market.
So, go for it!!

PS: We ended up calling the sellers of the house one night to see why they pulled it off the market. They hadn't liked any of the prospective buyers. They were an older couple who had lived in the house for the past 40+ years and didn't want to sell it to just anybody. We met them for lunch one day and they sold us the house the next. Some things are just meant to be...
