WOT: advice on a moisture barrier

Hey all...
I'm in the midst of building a theatre in the basement of our house. I just built an in-wall unit to hold my stereo components. Basically, I made a boxed in unit out of nice plywood that's supported by 2x4's all around and then my rack slides into that. There's an access door on the back so you can open up for easy wiring. Question is, that the 'box' sticks into an area of the basement that is unfinished and is basically a storage area. Summers here in CT are pretty humid and those who live here know how moist it can get. I have forced air heat/ac in the finished area of the basement with a couple returns that I added so I'm not worried about moisture in that part. But after I built this, I just realized that I could run into a problem with how wet it gets. I'm thinking of insualting the exterior of the unit with something, just not sure what. Wondering if I should also lay down a layer of plastic or something under the insulation for added protection, or will that cause the moisture to be trapped? I also plan on putting a few 4" component fans in the sides of the box that will draw dry air from the finished area of the basement through the unit and exhaust it out the back, if that makes any sense.
Any idea what I should use for insulation? Just regular fiberglass? Styrofoam sheets? Anything else? Not sure if anyone has any experience in this area, not as far as electronics go, but just as far as preventing moisture. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance :)
