I'm kind of mixed in what I think about it. I do think that the drivers education that is required here is a joke, I learned driving with my parents around the neighborhood, never had to take a class or anything. And for my motorcycle license, I took a safe rider course that meant that I didn't have to do a road test to get the endorsement on my license. I think it would really be a good thing if we could somehow require a real driver's education to get a license. I also like the idea about a probationary period, not sure what should trigger a loss, though, or for how long. I do think 16 is pretty young, maybe it should just be harder to get a license when you're younger, like having to take 50% more driver's ed time? Very sad about the girl and her young brother.
