their stuff for a week's vacation in a '03 9-5 Linear wagon. It works out to about 675 pounds of people and maybe 300 pounds of assorted stuff. Other than the handling being a bit less crisp and the car being less powerful due to the load, there were no issues. It ran fine uphill and down, around corners on empty backwoods roads and we arrived 10 hours later in good shape.
FWIW, I used to overload my truck with rocks when I was building a stone wall. I used to put 2000-2500 pounds in the back of a decrepit Chevy S-10 (a half ton truck). The truck was not happy and I eventually killed it. But it got the rock for my wall moved.
Steve, you seem to be on a quest to find things you don't like about your Saab, and Saabs in general. You probably ought to look for something different. You can complain all you want about your car but it's not going to change anything. The world is not perfect and life ain't fair.
