Ok, Saab gets to build cars and they make a small profit per unit. But here is the problem, sub-human GM dealers who will sue, sue, sue, if anyone tries to sell Saab in the U.S. but those who hold GM franchises. You know, those Caddy Hummer folks who pushed Saab into the corner and never spent local ad money on that line. The three in Phoenix come to mind,All owned by the same family, always pushed Hummer/Caddy, never adversitized Saab in the local press. These will be the first people in court looking for a payday. Solution? The new owner/ GM /rewrites contracts AT RENEWAL time in such a fashion that only people who really what to sell Saabs will resign.
My Idea, get rid of everything west of Ohio and focus on the northeast, where most of the Saabs have been sold anyway. Look and learn from the Oldsmoble mess. No matter what happens lawsuits will follow, just try to minimize them.
Chris, former franchise manager major oil
