I have friends who do and they complain about this kind of thing. It'd drive me crazy.
I understand the potential "taste" issues, but such rules are usually about appearance. But an attractive plastic fence that doesn't weather would seem a lot better than a wooden one that rots and falls over.
Does the HOA have any real legal standing if you just went ahead and put up plastic fence of acceptable appearance?
