Tire question, seeking advice

I have a tire question/dilemma. Seeking opinions and advice.
2011 Honda Odyssey, 36k miles. I bought it at 33k. OE Michelin Primacy tires are on the car: 2 in front are at 50%, 2 in rear are very close to done. I think the p.o. wasn’t so good about rotating. I am taking a long trip, south, for Thanksgiving. About 1800 miles in all.
* I don’t want to run these old tires on the rear wheels.
* I have a set of 4 snows but don’t want to mount them before this warm-weather trip. That just burns them up.
* I don’t want to buy a new set of 4 all-seasons, run them for 2-3 weeks, then pull them off and mount the snows.
I am thinking of buying 2 new all-seasons now. I'd mount them on the front and moving the remaining (50% good) tires to the rear. I'd take the trip down south and when I return, mount the 4 snows. In the spring I’ll buy the second two all-seasons to match, and mount the set.
Good idea? Or bad?
Thanks,
--Dan
