Two initial thoughts:
One guy I know just dumped his 5-series at 135K. It was headed for a load of pricey repairs --a couple grand, he figured. So he leased a new Mazda 6 with a 6-speed manual and is driving happy for about $225/month. He'd had Bimmers for awhile and just didn't want to pay for the high mileage upkeep.
A good friend has leased BMWs as his company cars for years, and bought them before he had his own business. He says the only way to own a Bimmer is on a lease or under warranty. Otherwise they cost way too much to own. However, he does own a Z4 (his mid-life crisis car), and was not pleased when he had to replace the battery, a $300 dealer visit with reprogramming and remarrying of the battery to the car.
Of your choices, I'd go with the Jeep. Easy to fix, lots of parts available. Cheaper to own, insure, etc.
The older I get, the more I begin to like having most of the cars in the household fleet being a bit more appliance-like.
