We had a mid-50's electric Frigidaire/GM stove for a while. A photographer friend of mine gave it to me. He had it in his studio kitchen. Still had the manuals with it. It was in amazing shape for its age. That thing looked like Harley Earl designed it. It cooked as well as a gas stove. They don't make them like that anymore. I loved it, my wife—not so much. She ditched it for a "modern" stove. We've been through a new glass top and two oven heating elements on it in the decade we've owned it. Newer stuff is built for our disposable society.
