Hey, you're more organized than I was in my senior year of HS. If you're interested in poli-sci or history, I would definitely recommend a smaller school. More contact with faculty, discussion format in the classroom. Bowdoin would be excellent for this and is in a great location. My wife went to Skidmore for two years and transferred out because she didn't feel it challenged her enough. You might consider Carleton College in Minnesota - similar to Bowdoin is a lot of respects. I went to school on the west coast, moving there from the midwest, and can vouch that there's much to be said for moving away; it fosters much more independence and you start becoming more aware of making your own choices.
