And learned an assload about Thomas Jefferson and how he liked the idea of the lawn and designed the dome himself and what not, but I didn't get a great idea of the school itself, plus Charlottesville seemed like sort of a dump to me. Plus, being an out-of-stater, I'm not even a shoo in there. Unfortunately my father went to BU and my mother went to UMass, and I would rather go to ITT tech than either of those schools. My grandfather teachers nuclear physics at a University in Canberra, Australia and got his BS, Masters and PhD all from Cambridge, but I don't see how that lineage could help me. That pisses me off...a friend of mine has significantly lower test scores and GPA than I do and I think he is virtually guaranteed to go to a top notch school because his dad went to Yale, his Mom to Radcliffe, and both went to UVA grad school, his dad for law and his mom for medicine. This whole geographic distribution thing is pissing me off too, because if I lived in Wyoming, I could get into Harvard, but unfortunately what all the schools I like DON'T need are more suburban white kids from the Northeast. Sorry, I'm just bitter, and a dime a dozen apparently.
