I understand Steve's frustration.....(longish)

I find it most disturbing that the B235r wouldn't handle 45 extra hp. It comes stock in the Aero with 250, and most people that have had them Dyno'ed have found them to be even higher. It's hard to believe that it wouldn't handle a simple 18% increase in performance. I don't think Steve feels like Saab is responsible for what he did, but I can totally understand is extreme disappointment for the lack of quality on there part regardless. They *did* have piston problems with that engine due to knocking that *was* addressed by Saab. Steve bought the car second hand, and let's face it, there are a lot of cheap SOB's that will buy a $30k + car and refuse to pay a dollar or 2 more for a tank of gas.(makes me wanna puke) The early T-7 system was noted for having problems reducing boost when encountering low octane (a.k.a. shit-gas). Saab should at least investigate this phenom a little bit more. Let's just say that the Saab rep did see this board; Steve put the best known parts and software on his car. The engine should have easily been able to handle those mods. (It's not like he was using Abbutt S/W or a cheap boost controller or something) Makes me wonder about the light weight b235. It may be more fuel efficient, but it shouldn't be a trade off in quality.
I can understand Steve's frustration with Saab's lack of empathy,(and quality) despite his own knowing of what he did to tune the car. Let's now say that they(SAAB) haven't seen this board, and Steve did have the stock computer in there. The response he was given is now total crap. If I had a stock Viggen, and this happened, and I hadn't modified it, and they said it overboosted and weren't gonna warranty the car? I would be hot enough to.....well, God only knows.
Sorry again Steve. I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we would all like to see this work out for you, and we all want to see the viggen scream back better than ever with even more power than before! Let us know if we can help.
