On the warranty side of things. SAAB warrants the car as they built and tested it. If the car is modified by some else than them why should they pay. Tring to deceive them by removing the modified ECU and charging false blame is like stealing.
In defence of the ecu tuner. If memory serves me correcly there were othe modifcations done to the car with out futher ecu programing. Personal experince has proven that if you inprove the effency of the inlet track you reduce the pressure drop between turbo and intake manifold. When this restriction is remove the exhasut manifold pressure drops. When the exhaust manifold pressure drops for the same intake manifold pressure the fuel mixture goes lean due to the fact their is less spent gas left in the combustion chamber. I have experienced this when installing a better flowing intercooler on one of my projects. The a/f ratio went from a solid 12.5 to 14.0 just by changing the intercooler.
