The amount of time it takes to program an engine management system for more horspower with out damaging and engine is huge. I work with a lot of tuners and car manufactures tuning departments. One project I was involved in required 600 hours of dyno time to get 40 more hp from a 2.4 liter engine. This time was spent checking every possible combination of rpm boost and timing so that there was not engine failures.
The Ecu tunner should be the one to cover the repair. The 235r engine has showen to be a reliable engine if taken care of and left a lone.
I would again stress that you need to turn you attention to the ECU tuner and its suppliers for repair as that is where the control lies.
