On my 2008 Sportcombi, the gauge reads in normal circumstances to the 1/2 way point. Yesterday, I changed out the Thermostat with a new MotoRad (all I had and what I got the car with/been good for 70K). Prior to this I had changed out the coolant temperature sensor with a Genuine Saab part. I was trying to run down a fairly large drop in gas mileage and, later, the temperature gauge dropping off to zero. Although I have limited mileage at this point, the mileage appears to be headed back up and I have experienced no drop off of the gauge reading or codes. My car has about 188K miles. The only code that came up was the P0116. Thanks for all the help! Good luck!
