As others have pointed out, the point IS safety, not the bill, although it adds to the insult. Having your car die without warning can be a white knuckling experience with potentially dramatic consequences. I hope you don't have to live through it to understand. I have to agree that this is probably the single most damaging element to Saab's reputation. It's a blatant contradiction of the very essence of what the brand stands for.
