The reason the auto and manual have the same HP and different torque is the torque limiting is only effective in the low and mid RPM range where torque is potentially the highest. At max HP RPM the T25 is running out of breath and the waste gate is closed in both manual and automatic, which = the same TQ and HP at that RPM.
All transmissions manual or automatic are designed for a given life at a specified maximum torque. The automatic may or may not be rated the same as the manual. The automatic is compensated for boost pressure via the hose between the intercooler outlet tube and transmission valve body. This is good as long as the boost does not exceed the compensation range.
A big reason for the the automatic boost limit is the later 9000's don't have traction control. Since the torque converter can multiply the engine torque by up to 2.3 times, any higer torque may have been a handling, saftey, save the final drive, and axel shaft issue. Converter stall (car held from moving with brakes and full throttle) may very well over strain the drive train, and provide remarkable activity when the brakes are suddenly released.
