They don't just add $10K and justify somehow.
Japanese car makers work really hard to "lower" the MSRP from the year before.
It make sense to lower it as price per parts gets lowered when more products are made. So whatever the parts carried over from previous year (model) is technically cost cheaper which they will pass that onto the consumer.
Very few if any, US and Euro car makers can/do this.
