In terms of design and such, Honda. I had a V6 Accord for a business trip recently and it was *unreal*. It's not rocket science to get 250-260 hp from 3 liters, but to do it smoothly, is something else.

In terms of soul, the V6 in the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6...

In terms of muscle, the V8 in the Maserati Quattroporte... I was at my indie who was servicing one, and he WOT'd it... scary.

And, for those of us who were lucky enough to see / hear it, the turbine in the Chevrolet Express experimental car of the late 80's. After you have listened to the AGT-5, everything else sounds like a lawnmower.
