I would think Pontiac or Buick would be candidates. A lot of the development being funded could shift to the other brand, so there would be no real loss in that respect.
However, one version (I have several) of my Rx for GM is (very briefly):
Combine Saturn and Chevy into one brand to provide entry and mid-level cars. Kill the entry level products in the Pontiac line. Minivans can go here.
Kill Buick altogether and migrate customers to Caddy.
Keep Caddy as the luxury brand but keep the performance edge going in *most* of the models.
Make Pontiac the *domestic* upscale/performance brand. Cars like the G6, Bonneville and Grand Prix have a market in the US.
Keep SAAB as the Euro sports/performance/near luxury line. Share multiple Euro platforms for economy. Keep Sweden in the design/development loop for Saab. No SUVs, but AWD models should be in the mix. Turbos a must.
Put all trucks under the GMC badge. They'll still sell about the same number of trucks. And what they do lose would probably be offset by the reduced costs for no longer having the same vehicle in Chevy and Caddy clothes. Either kill the Hummer, or make it a brand within GMC.
That's one version.
