push to put the new tires on the rear. as noted, it's better to *not* lock up the rears and have them come around... So they want to put the better tires on the rear. So if you've just worn a pair on the front, and want to put the new ones on the front to try and "even out" the wear, you most likely will get push back. I understand the argument and can really fight it either. They are correct. My only question was, if you are getting a mileage warranty, ie if you wear them out before 40k miles or whatever, and you get a prorated cost on the replacements, everytime I go to replace worn tires by the pair, you want to move the rears to the front and put the new ones on the rear, I guess that's ok, but if I started with four new ones, and let the fronts wear more than the rears (you *know* that is going to happen) then the shop doesn't want to rotate, during my visit for my free rotation, the rears to the fronts as the rears have more tread, so then the fronts wear out faster as I can't get you to rotate them... so you have to replace them sooner... do you see where I'm going with this? Catch 22?
oh, as to SoCal, just the fact that we get so little rain makes it worse, just a sprinkle on the oil roads makes it *really* exciting. But look outside this week... woo hoo!
