First of all, please read your Saab owner's manual. There is a clear section stating in plain English that newer tires ALWAYS go on the rear axle. It is more difficult to recover from a rear-wheel skid than it is to recover from a front-wheel skid, because the front wheels have the benefit of engine weight. Better traction is always more crucial on the rear axle, whether it is FWD, RWD, or AWD.
