It is pretty effing scary. I had just picked my 9000 up from an audio shop that installed a remote starter. I accelerated quickly to get on a highway (probably floored it, or close to it), and when I let off the gas, the car kept going - fast.
My first instinct was to stand on the brakes and shift into neutral, then shut the car off and pull over, which I did with no problem. I realized what the issue was, popped the mat back into position, clipped it in, and I was on my way. Damn audio shop would have had a fat lawsuit on their hands if I had smashed into something.
Not sure why the CHP didn't just shift into neutral...Also, the brakes should be able to slow the car down WAY more than 120 mph. Something else must have happened in the car that we don't know about.
