that I _really_ wanted to like the Tundra. We were truck shopping a little over a month ago and looked at every full size truck. I saved the Toyota for last assuming it would be "the one" and boy was I wrong. I really wanted to like that truck but I simply could not accept the horrible quality and couldn't dare pay anything close to what they wanted. The only thing that was worth the money (thanks in part to a steep discount) was the Dodge (and yes, I can't believe I would EVER say that!). Like you say, time will tell if a Dodge can be as reliable as a Toyota, or at least within a tolerable amount.
While I was there I looked at the LC and was immediately reminded of my old Corolla. Every thing fit as it should, everything had the perfect weight to it, doors shut with authority, and there was no slack in any part of the vehicle. It's an unbelievably impressive vehicle with an unbelievable price tag. It's really unfortunate that these days it seems that quality doesn't start until you hit the $60k mark.
I didn't end up buying a truck because the dealer wasn't as motivated to sell as I assumed they would be. I think they were still on the euphoric high from Cash for Clunkers. Plus, I have a very hard time pulling the trigger and once I saw the LC, I sort of figured I should wait and save a bit more and just get something I know would last me for years and years. I've price shopped before with my Saab and am _slightly_ regretting it. Aw, who am I kidding, I'll never be able to pull the trigger and will end up driving my current cars into the ground and then replace them with something like an 1986 Ford Tempo. In the mean time, I'll live vicariously through you and be jealous of your 164 and CTS-V!
(sorry for the rambling, slow day at work)
