Long thread coming indeed, lol.
My experience is with used Euro cars which I liked when new but couldn't afford at that time. So in 2004 I bought a cherry 1995 5 series BMW with a stick, paid tip top dollar for a cream puff, still in the driveway. Top dollar at that time was $13.5 K, sixty thousand mile car. 140K miles now, no big surprises over the years.
My 2002 9 3 'vert was less of a cream puff cosmetically but more importantly was owned by a very conscientious person who maintained her by the book, but a bit of a slob,105K miles when I got her, 130 now. A 6500 hundred dollar car two years ago. A thousand plus in paint work for the infamous rust spot behind the drivers door and rear bumper, tires, belts, pullies ect. And this car does not look it's age.
My point is that the fit and finish of these two cars is, IMHO, above average and I'm into each one for pretty short money.
Does it get better than that?
Best
John
