I don't get car covers

other than for cars being stored. So you take it off in the morning, and drive around all day and have a car covered with salt and slop when you get home? Do you put the cover on over that? If you do, then the inside of the car cover must get full of slop. Do that all week and I can only imagine what the inside would be like. Then on the weekend you wash the car. Do you put a cover full of dirt and salt on a clean car? What do you do in the morning with this huge piece of canvas that's wet and/or covered with ice and snow? Wad it up and put it in your clean dry trunk? Must be fun to deal with when it's like 5 degrees out with wind. Unless you wash your car everyday before putting the cover back I don't see how it would work.
