Hey wait a minute.
As a non union employee for 20 years and a Union employee for 10, here is my .02.
If you have a great employer, the need for a union was non-existant. I was getting great health benefits, vacation and free food at work, back in 1972. I have also worked for companies who fail to pay the employees for time worked, and violate the law by overworking the employees.
In a Union shop, because of the checks and balances, I can be assured of due process, and my retired union brothers have fought to allow me to have a living wage. I make $22.51 at my current job. my friend who still works for my former employer is about $9 per hour behind, and he pays $300 per month for medical.
Yes, I agree that the dead wood in the unions needs to go...but it is everywhere in society, not just in the unions.
Here is a question...
How much is an honest days pay???
Jim
