that it is written for "laypeople" doesn't excuse it for being weak + incomplete to the point of being misleading. In fact it makes it worse because it effectively takes advantage of the layperson's potential inability to filter out the crap (and there is a good bit of it in there) to sell an opinion that is only partially rooted in fact... that some on the other side do this as well does not make it right...
a proper theoretical treatment (eg to determine the actual role CO2 plays) needs to be more complete in order to draw meaningful conclusions...
I recognize that this is an editorial piece + is meant to be a dissenting voice that expresses his opinion. Hopefully all readers would also recognize that and take it for what it's worth...
