Your right,.. if I came across a 9-5 2001 200,000miles and say I didn't even look at it I`d buy it for the right price also. Especially if it was midnight blue with tan interior, it would make a good parts car, if it was mint interior I`d pay up to 1500 for it, if it runs put another 1000. on top.
Lets make a little scenario on this car with all service records and I`ll show you how they mean nothing. I`ll be the buyer, the car` 2001 9-5 aero blue 200,000 miles. There I am looking at it in person`I`m fresh off the street and have no clue about Saabs to me its a car that goes vroom vroom if I didn't know what to look for when I was there in person I`d ask Saabnet for the pro`s and con`s on the vehicle, as for the Indie lets say I was buying it from an Indie which say`s He/She has all the service records and the car carries a sticker price of 3,500 and on top of that its in mint condition. Sounds gr8
Now a closer look at the service records show the Indie had been using a blend, 10-40 regular oil and 10-30 synthetic on every oil change, the car was never equipped with the pcv updates, and no reports in record of a dic. ever being bought I could continue but this would be up to the buy to know what it is their looking for.
We all could tell the poster exactly what to look for on any Saab which would toss any report right out the window but for us not knowing which model of Saab their looking at only leaves our hands tied.
