Autopilot is very cool and works great (it just handles the helm, not the sails). A roller jib I think is pretty standard these days on cruisers and is an awesome feature both for getting the jib 'up and down' and for being able to put out exactly as much sail as you want. You don't appreciate how big those sails are until you're wrestling one down on the deck in any sort of wind. Most cruisers I've seen have the 'basket' (I'm sure there's a word for it) that you can drop the main in short term. The idea of sucking the main into the mast seems pretty crazy to me! Electric winches can be helpful when single handing, but it's more important just to have a boat rigged to be single handed.
Honestly though, you'll need to know the basics to sail anyway and these are just convenience features. Next you'll be wanting air conditioning :) which does make you very popular by the way. For long distance cruising you're mostly setting your sails for hours or even days and just making small adjustments, so the conveniences are really better for weekend sailors anyway (except autopilot, which you'll probably want). In my opinion, get an older boat that's well maintained and already being used for blue water sailing - you'll know it can handle it and will save a fortune by forgoing the gizmos.
