Not all 9-5's are the same as yours. How many miles and what tires?

The power can be impoved. But if you are using a lower octane fuel, the output will be less.

Automatic trany I assume? The 2002+ production has a 5 spd autobox that is even better.

I cannot think of anything about our 9-5 Aero Wagons that suggests twitchy or anything negative about the FWD other than that provides a limit to traction. If your tires are not good performance tires, you can be experiencing grip problems that effect steering, acceleration/braking or the effects of both together.

I have not driven a pre 2002 Aero, but you need to be aware that a major suspension change was made in 2002. And if your shocks are worn, that adds to things.

Mainstream Saab sales are driven by folks test driving current production. Your observations might not be relevant to that.
