Hey Russ,
I must say that I am with you. I think most of the good people on this BB are true Saab people and there is nothing wrong with that. I see the difference in thinking here being that many readers have not owned a BMW and do not fully understand what you are trying to explain about the Saab 4 cyl being harsh / rough / old and just not in the class of BMW when it comes to the silky smooth butter which the BMW V8 beast puts out.
I'm not trying to trash the Saab 4 cyl because I own 2 of them and for the most part have been happy with them. I also own a BMW X5 and until you drive a BMW for a period of time there is just no way you can understand what Russ and I are saying.
I have come to the point where I have simply outgrown the 9 5 and Saab in general. The 9 5 is a very old car with lots and lots of road noise that is just too unrefined to go head to head with BMW, MB, Audi, Jag, Acura, Lexus and Infinity. In the next year I am going to go with a black BMW 750LI. I still wish Saab had something to compete with the other luxo makers in the smooth V8 / I6 market.
