I have a '97 900S which I bought used in '99 with 20k from a Saab dealer for $17k I by chance knew the previous owner/leasor. My accountant wife has calculated, not including gas or insurance, that the car has cost us less than $25k (something like $24,780) it now has 178k. If I bought a new 9-3 in '99 it would have cost more than the total just to buy the car plus added maintainence, I feel it's no contest. It's much cheaper to buy used for a long term "keeper" let someone else pay the depreciation. We just purchased an '02 9-3SE CPO w/27k if it turns out to be half as good as the '97 it will be the buy of the century.
