a few years ago. She said the problem is no one knows for sure how laser eye surgery plays out 20 or 30 years later. As Ari notes, a lot of eye issues are due to aging. The muscles in the eye change, and so does the shape of the eye. So if you tweak your eyes when you are 25 or 30 it could potentially cause more issues later. And while it's easy for the doc doing the work to say you might need glasses in 30 years, he'll probably be knocking back Mojitos in Cabo San Lucas by then and you might be looking at more eye surgery instead of a pair of specs.
I know people who've done it and are thrilled. Haven't personally heard any bad stories. Time will tell.
I have mild astigmatism and use drug store magnifying glasses for reading/computers, but would love to have the crystal-clear 20:10 vision I had when I was 18, so I'm tempted, too. But I'd rather not take a chance just yet.
Just my $0.02.
