Because we all have different views/definitions of what "green" means...

You want to be green, here are my two cents:

- Don't be wasteful: that refers to all things in life, if you don't need it, then don't buy it...if you can re-use/save/recycle, then do it...
- Be aware: when you purchase new items there is an environmental impact, try purchasing items from companies that are "environmentally friendly"
- Cars, Cars, Cars: Do you think that engines have improved a lot in terms of gas mileage? I don't think so...we all want to have more power and go faster, that's why I think that our consumption has not improved...in terms of power we have improved, we now have 4 bangers that made in excess of 250 horses...My father's 95 Bronco made 200 with a 5.0... Our only concern about mileage started after 9-11. Why don't we get Diesel engines in USA?
- Plug-In hybrid is not the answer, neither is Ethanol: where do you think that the energy to plug in comes from? and ethanol, those machines working the fields and making your tortilla prices go up? It takes energy to make that happen, without thinking about unintended consequences like the price of corn going up or that mileage in E85 cars is marginal.
- And what about the house?: does it make sense to have a tank with hot water recirculating and re-heating itself all the time? How about that garage light that has not been turned off in a couple or years, and my favorites, the computer and the TV....Put a ceiling fan, play with your thermostat, turn off appliances and lights, DO YOUR BEST!!!

I am guilty of not observing some of the above, but I do my best to think about them....If we all pitch in we can make a difference.
