...It's more of a recognition that resources are not nearly as limited as some would lead us to believe, and the realization that many observed effects are part of natural cycles that have taken place for eons rather than being "caused" by the action of our puny human civilization.
If I was into waste for waste's sake I would not be driving a 4-cylinder Saab. I just don't buy a lot of the malarkey that we have been fed by certain political factions and am not willing to change my lifestyle based on said malarkey.
I have also found through personal experience with environmentalists and their organizations over the last 40 years that "environmentalism" is frequently more about pushing questionable social goals than it is about any actual problems that may exist.
My $0.02 worth, and all I'll say about it here as this is not the place to get into it.
