I was travelling on an expressway with a 65mph limit. I usually keep within 10 mph over, no more than 75. However this time I needed to get into the right lane for the next exit. There were a lot of car in both lanes for the evening commute and I made the mistake of using my signal indicator. It seems like when I signal that I would like to get over, most people will speed up to prevent it. Anyway, I saw that I could get into the right lane a couple cars ahead, so I accelerated, moved easily into the right lane and took my exit all the while with my signal indicator on to inform the drivers of my intention. I accelerated just as I passed a trooper with a radar gun. He pulled me over and asked if I knew how fast I was going. I honestly didn't know since I was just trying to change lanes to take the exit and told him basically what I just typed above. Apparently he clocked me going 84 mph. Sure didn't seem that fast. In the end he gave me a ticket for not obeying a posted sign which was just a $50 fine and no points. He could have gotten me for speeding and reckless driving if I was going 85mph, 20 miles over. Today I passed a trooper on I-384 and I was doing 75 and he ignored me.
