I'm surprised no one mentioned that most of our Saabs have that ~3mph "safety factor" built into the speedometers. I'm sure that's saved me a couple times.

I'm sure there must be a tiny bit of bias in all cops. "Oh there's a red BMW speeding with a gray Saab going just as fast, I'll nab the Bimmer." Maybe I've just gotten lucky and the officer is sneezing or taking a bite of his donut as I drive by. I will say that 99% of Saab 9-5 drivers (all three) I see around CT are ANCIENT. I get excited to give them a nod or something and once I see that they're on the verge of death I shrug them off.

Maybe I will hold off putting my "University of Connecticut" sticker on the back windshield so as not to give anyone the impression I'm a young whippersnapper of a student. Just in case they subconsciously discriminate against age/type of car.

Obviously driving a Saab doesn't grant instant immunity to being pulled over, and it depends on who is in the cruiser, but I think it has to be a contributing factor. I'm going to go test the top speed of my Aero on I-84... I'll let you know how it goes. :)
