It is possible to almost avoid tickets entirely. I was driving 50K miles/year until I retired a few years ago. During that period I learned how to absolutely avoid being stopped, and what was a certain attention-getter.
To avoid being stopped driving at the speed limit or even 3-7 MPH above it was a certain way to avoid problems. This seemed to be the case in NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, ME, PA and MD where I did much of my driving. Driving 10-15 MPH above the limit (or more) proved to a certain way to get stopped.
Now that I'm retired I typically drive 2-5 MPH above the limit, and often only at the speed limit.....and I'm consistently ignored.
There was a time when I typically went 15-30 MPH over the limit on the interstate; I kept getting stopped. I kept doing it though; I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Those of you that never get stopped understand why; and those of you that are getting stopped probably have an inkling why.
What to do....so many choices and so little time.
