for testing purpose on the 9-5 and OG9-3 is quite easy: unscrew the ABS controller, as if one were to send it to BBA for repair. Just don't drive like that on public roads lest one gets into an accident and the insurance adjuster finds out the intentional disabling.
I do think pressing the TCS button (for disabling) does sometimes make driving better in snow. The relative lower snow performance in 9-5 compared to 900 may have much to do with weight, weight distribution and high engine torque at low RPM. Winter mode may help with the last. Wagon is worse than Sedan, as even more weight is shifted away from the driving wheels. That being said, my 15" all seasons are doing remarkably well on the wagon, even during the snow storm a couple weeks ago.
