3) The oil issue is a long and storied one. This is my recommendation. Use any synthetic oil, xW-40 that is rated ACEA A3/B3. There is evidence that due to oil pump issues, an xW-30 weight oil MAY not consistently provide proper oil pressure (re Andrews, a SAAB tech that has done research and writes a column for NINES, the magazine of the SAAB Club of North America). Change the oil at intervals no longer than 5000 miles. The 2003 9-3 convertible is still part of the model known here as the OG9-3. Its oil capacity is 4 liters (about 4.25 quarts). The NG9-3 had the increased capacity of 6 quarts. Many of us with OG9-3s use a larger filter in order to get more oil into the system.
