As I said before, for the purposes of my information here in this thread, I don't give a rat's ass about 5W-30 & Saab's oil pumps. I don't care which oil you choose to use. And I'm sure your engine is working just fine. I'm not disagreeing with you WRT to your experiences using 5W-30. I simply don't care.
My only point was that ACEA A5/B5 is NOT BETTER than A3/B3. That it is, in fact, less desireable for any Saab turbocharged engine. That's all. As long as you have that bit of information, I'm good.
NOW, as for GM-LL-A-025 ...
Be aware that this is an "enviro-spec" which earns GM much financial gain from taxing governments. It's a combination specification designed to meet the two goals of fuel economy AND long drain intervals. I have to assume that you're using it because you strictly follow the on-board Oil Life Monitor System's oil change recommendations, correct? There are better (ie, more protective & durable) oils to use if you're following the OLM, but none of them meet GM-LL-A-025's requirements for both economy & longevity. As with your use of 5W-30, I have no interest in "selling" you on using anything different. I just want to keep everyone up-to-date with the correct information.
