Moving along at the screaming speed of a slug...going slowly as the learning curve is huge for me here...
New GM oil cooler should be in today or tomorrow. Here's the pics:

Ohh..so THAT'S what that thing is..
Disconnecting the oil pipes from the front was needed. It's easy but take off the oil pressure sensor too.
Seems it was 'just in time', the sealant was crumbly and the well had sealant crud in it too.
