This person is a woman, a few years older than me. I have: a stable marriage to a great guy (SilverAeroGuy xoxo), my own home, and two Saabs. She's been doing the internet dating thing forever and constantly complains about being single...she lives in a crappy apt. with roommates...and drives a bashed-up old Ford Escort. In addition to the name-calling, there have been numerous other incidents of trivial mockery (way too juvenile to even bring to mgmt), plus she has insulted my husband and my car. Think she's jealous? Um....yeah! And she happens to be fairly plain and dumpy and while I will never be cover model material, I know I've got it better than she does in the looks and body department.
One time she made a super-snarky comment when I politely stepped out of the way to let her up the stairs first. All I had done was try to be polite but instead I get a faceful of attitude. The perfect response, which made her go red with rage, and totally speechless: "Age before beauty." For once she had no comeback. He he.
But this should not be part of my life in the workplace! It's so frustrating. :(
